直訳調に、Help me prepare the meal. などと言っても間違いではありません。
ただ、give me a hand（手を貸す→手伝う） という表現がこのようなときにはよく使われるので自然な言い方です。
divide XX into ...で「XXを…に分ける」という意味を表します。
Can you help me with dinner? Maybe you can put out five servings of the XX.
この場合、次のような言い方ができますよ。
ーCan you help me with dinner? Maybe you can put out five servings of the XX.
「夕飯の準備手伝ってくれない？XXを５人分に分けて出して」
to put out five servings of ... と言うことで、5人分につぎ分て出すことを意味します。
XXにはおかずの名前を入れてください。
