「そっちの方がかなり遠回りだよ！」は英語で「That way is definitely a detour!」や「That's the long way around!」という意味があります。

この場合、次のような言い方ができますよ。
ーThat way is much longer.
「その道はかなり長いよ」＝「そっちの道は遠回りだよ」
ーIt takes much longer because it's out of the way.
「そっちは道を離れてるからかなり時間がかかるよ」＝「そっちは遠回りだからもっと時間がかかるよ」
例：
That way is much longer, but we can go that way for a change if you like.
「そっちは遠回りだけど、気分転換にそっちの道でもいいよ」
