「言おうと思っていた」は英語で "I was going to say~" または "I was about to tell you~" と文章を始めます。
例文：
I was going to say that I ate the cookies on the table. 「言おうと思っていたけど、テーブルの上のクッキーは食べちゃったよ。」
I was about to tell you that I am going to Italy next month. 「言おうと思っていたけど、来月僕はイタリアに行くことになった。」
