英語だと”best friend”とか”close friend”会話であまり言わないから”friend”だけで大丈夫です。
一緒に - together, with 〜〜
一緒に食べる - eat together
お姉さんと一緒に食べる - eat with my sister
行く - go

友人も行く - my friend is coming too, my friend is also coming
My friend is coming with me. She is familiar with this area.
I have a friend who knows this area. She is coming with me.
回答1 私の友達も一緒に行くね。彼女この辺り詳しいの。
回答2 私の友達でこの辺り詳しい子がいるの。彼女も一緒に行くね。
Be familiar withで〜に詳しい、精通しているという意味です。
似ている熟語でbe familiar to というのもありますが、
Be familiar withは人が主語になり、〜に精通する。
Be familiar toは物が主語になりto 以下によく知られているという意味になります。
この場合、次のような言い方ができますよ。
ーI'm going to bring a friend of mine.
「わたしの友達も一緒に連れて行きます」＝「友人も一緒に行くね」
ーI invited one of my friends to go with me.
「私と一緒に行くよう友達も呼びました」＝「友人も一緒に行くね」
