「自分の子供がいないので、友達の子と過ごすのを当てにしている」
to resort to ... with ~ で「〜と…するのを当てにする」

または次のような言い方もできます。
ーI don't have any children of my own, so I depend on my friends to let me play with their kids instead.
「自分の子供がいないので、代わりに友達の子と遊ばせてもらうのを当てにしている」
to depend on を使って「当てにする」とも言えます。
